Story Summary

Scrat’s never-ending chase for his acorn accidentally launches him into outer space, where he triggers cosmic events that put Earth in danger. Meanwhile, Manny, Sid, Diego, and their extended herd must leave home and embark on a journey filled with humor, chaos, and new characters.

Manny is stressed about his daughter Peaches’ upcoming marriage. Sid faces heartbreak after being dumped by his girlfriend. During their anniversary celebration, asteroids begin crashing around them, forcing the herd to flee.

At the same time, Buck discovers an ancient stone pillar predicting past asteroid impacts. He reveals that previous asteroids have always struck the same location, and visiting that site might help them uncover a way to stop the incoming impact.

During their journey, the herd faces obstacles, including three Dromaeosaurs who overhear the plan and try to interfere. The team eventually reaches Geotopia, a hidden community built inside a long-fallen asteroid. They learn that asteroid fragments possess electromagnetic properties that can help divert the massive asteroid approaching Earth.
